The short version. The software runs in your browser. Nothing you type into it is sent to us or stored on a server. We never see it. Use the microphone and your browser's own speech service does the transcription, which on some browsers means the audio goes to the browser maker. Section 2 has the detail. The only personal information we hold about you is the record of your purchase, and your payment processor holds that.
The long version is below, because a short version is not a policy.
Everything you type into the software stays in your browser on your own machine. It is not transmitted, it is not stored on any server of ours or anyone else's, and we never receive it or see it.
Your Voice Print and everything else you build saves to your own machine, in your control.
Nothing you type is used to train anything. The software contains no language model and makes no call to one.
When you take a document from the software to your own AI assistant, that is a separate service on your own arrangement with that provider. What happens to your text there is covered by their privacy terms, not ours.
The microphone option uses your browser's own speech service to turn talk into text.
Depending on which browser you use, that service may run on the browser maker's servers rather than on your machine. Where it does, your browser sends the audio to them and receives text back. That step is between you and your browser maker, and it is the same step any dictation feature in that browser uses.
What we can tell you about our side is exact. We do not record audio. We do not keep audio. We never receive the audio or the text that comes back from it, because none of it reaches us at any point.
If you would rather not use it, type or paste instead. Everything in the software works without the microphone.
When you buy, the payment processor collects what it needs to complete the sale. That is normally your name, your email address, your billing country, and the transaction details. Some processors collect a billing address for tax purposes.
We never see or store your full card number. No processor gives it to us.
We see the order record through the processor's dashboard: what was bought, when, for how much, and the email address to send it to. We use that record for three things only. Fulfilling and supporting your order, handling a refund if you ask for one, and meeting our Canadian tax and accounting obligations.
If you email us, we hold that email and our reply.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for advertising. We do not run advertising or analytics on this site.
These are every third party that touches anything of yours through this site.
Cloudflare. Hosts this website and routes mail sent to our support address. Cloudflare processes the connection between your browser and this site, and may set a security cookie to tell human visitors from bots. Mail you send to [email protected] is routed by Cloudflare and forwarded to a Google (Gmail) mailbox we control.
The payment processor. Named at checkout, and the one that handles your payment. It collects and holds your purchase details under its own privacy policy, and in some cases acts as merchant of record for the sale. Purchases today are fulfilled through Gumroad.
Your browser's speech service. Only if you use the microphone, and only between you and your browser maker. See section 2.
There is no analytics provider, no advertising network, no email marketing platform, no chat widget and no tracking script on this site.
This site sets no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no tracking cookies. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Cloudflare may set an essential security cookie to protect the site from automated abuse. Your payment processor sets its own cookies during checkout, on its own domain, under its own policy.
The software itself stores your work in your own browser's local storage on your machine. That is not a cookie, nothing is sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data clears it.
Purchase records are kept as long as Canadian tax and accounting law requires, which is six years from the end of the tax year the sale falls in. Support email is kept while it is useful and then deleted.
This site is run from Canada, under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask for a copy of it, or ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
There is very little to ask for, which is the point. Nothing you type into the software ever reaches us, so it cannot be in a request. What exists is your purchase record and any email you sent us.
One limit worth stating plainly. We cannot delete a purchase record we are legally required to keep for tax purposes until that period runs out, and where a processor is merchant of record, their own retention obligations apply to their copy. A deletion request goes to them as well, and we will tell you who to write to.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If you are in the UK, the EU or another region with its own data law, those rights apply to you as well and the same address handles them.
The software is sold to adults for business use. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority where they live.
We will update this page when something changes, and the date at the top tells you when that was.
